Here is some guidance on font characters on most PCs
Set top boxes may show Times New Roman, Arial, Courier.
However these font widths vary displays! It's safer to
set for a default font eg Times New Roman...
Dreamcast users get to see MS Sans font instead!
Click Windows key or click Start then select Run and type charmap
Press Enter key to run it... View all the characters in the
Times New Roman font or choose another or newly installed font!
Note that the Alt+number refers to each symbol from character code
32-255, smart quotes Alt+145 or 8216, Alt+146, Alt+147, Alt+148
Special html characters eg ‘ for ‘ etc.

As a writer, I found that calligraphy helps inspire poetry!

and wondrous fancy fonts we see on the Internet help, too!
A recent font style study showed some still fancy
Times New Roman or Verdana or Georgia fonts while
others prefer Tahoma and Trebuchet and Papyrus...
Fonts help us to embellish our language skills...
They heighten our appreciation for quotation!
I wanted to explore this fascination in a way
others could experiment with styles and colours!
So, thanks to Google.com I went exploring the web!
I found treasure troves of free fonts... they're
quite addictive because they're so artistic!

This poem refers to gold and the web COLOR code
for that is 255, 215, 0 for Red, Green and Blue.
Other codes: 208, 128, 48 or #D08030 may work...
Using Wordpad try the colour MAROON for this...
It's quite good, even on plain white A4 paper!
I tried setting minimum margins for maximum text.
Then I saved it in the RTF file format so it can
save the font and layout for future printouts!
Using the text colour changer (top of web page)
you can test MAROON as well as CRIMSON and GOLD!

On downloading this evaluation program I got started...
I learnt as I went. The symbols or characters are also
called glyphs. Each glyph can be modified and you soon
realise that it's hard going at first. You then get the
gist of customising a glyph to what you would like...
I started with the BlackChancery font on my PC...
I wanted to test how the font looked and soon created
some fancy lettering and ornate effects. These had to
be checked by the program itself. Some errors were fixed,
the rest needed manually editing and that meant more
work being done. Eventually I got to a position that I
had edited and improved the font's numbers as well as
the punctuation marks. I felt a sense of relief that
the demo had proved what a fine font editor this is.
To see what can be done requires a demo so that's
what I set up on this website. I created a new font.
By this I mean that I edited and edited and edited and
created a new A to Z, a new a to z, new numbers etc.
The rest of the original font's characters aren't
what I would use anyway. So I left them untouched...
Here's the web page demo of my Calligraphy poem...
It used a goldparchment.jpg background saved as a
negative image for the darkblueparchment.jpg file.
The Ability Office program allowed me to use the
image as a page background. So I used the font...
I tried a white coloured text to show the poem off...

Once on your PC eg C: drive or My Documents folder, you can
click the Windows key to open the Start Menu, Settings...
Control Panel, Fonts then File Menu to Install New Font.
(You can also delete the demo font later if you like...)
Once installed, refresh this web page as it was set up to
display a choice of fonts eg denisblkchcry first, then
BlackChancery if this was already installed. You'll see
the embellishments that I've made using Font Editor...

DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO CHANGE?
Do you have the courage to change? Do you seek to improve?
To sort things out or rearrange - to get out of the groove?
The time is now for something new, to change what's stale and old...
Perhaps to change your point of view, so better things unfold.
The chance to change is always here - each second proves it's so.
It's like the rose: each passing year, new flowers come and go.
It's like the water's fluid path, it's like the winds above,

I like fancy fonts! Calligraphy ones especially!
Monotype Corsiva, Vinque, Old English etc...
One of the most beautiful advances in technology is
to create one's one font style onto the computer...
Software creates a font character set and you can share
your font with family and friends for their computers...
That way you can correspond as if you wrote all the
words by hand... It truly adds a touch of class!
With this in mind, I recommend trying out products
that help you to be an individual, utterly unique!
